The GALFA Reel Talk: Legislative Roundtable will feature prominent speakers including Dr. Robyn Watson, President of Women in Film & Television Atlanta, and French Stewart, who will receive the GALFA Community Advocate Award. The event will focus on securing financial backing and executive support for Latino and multicultural stories.

Featured speakers include experts from various sectors of the film industry, such as Chiquita Woolfolk Banks, a film/TV financial advisor and tax attorney, and Elisabeth Strickler, a professor of media innovation who will discuss artificial intelligence’s role in film production.

Dr. José Marquez, GALFA’s CEO, emphasized the importance of the roundtable, stating that opportunities for diverse storytelling are created through legislative support and financial investment. The event will explore strategies to ensure more inclusive representation in Georgia’s film industry.

The roundtable will be hosted by State Representatives Angela Moore and Long Tran, along with Gabriel Sanchez, Secretary of the Georgia Hispanic Caucus. Approximately 60-70 attendees, including state film committee members, investors, studio executives, and filmmakers, are expected to participate.

Sponsored by companies including VensureHR and American Family Insurance, the event represents a significant step toward promoting diversity and supporting emerging multicultural filmmakers in Georgia.
