A collaborative effort between Charleston Animal Society, Joye Law Firm, and Adams Outdoor aims to combat pet overpopulation through the Charleston Paw Project Spay/Neuter Giveaway, offering 150 free spay/neuter certificates to local pet owners.
The initiative addresses a critical need in animal welfare, with more than 300 people applying for the free surgeries within the first five days of the campaign. By providing these certificates, the project seeks to prevent unnecessary animal euthanasia and improve the long-term health of pets in the community.
Joye Law Firm is funding the certificates, which will be distributed in three waves on May 20, August 26, and October 21. Each winner will receive a spay/neuter surgery at Charleston Animal Society’s Clinic, along with a one-year rabies vaccine.
Charleston Animal Society Vice President Aldwin Roman emphasized the broader impact of spaying and neutering, noting that preventing future unwanted litters can save thousands of animal lives. The organization, founded in 1874, has been a progressive leader in animal protection and operates a no-kill shelter accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association.
Adams Outdoor has supported the initiative by donating outdoor advertising and graphic design services, helping to raise awareness about responsible pet ownership.
Interested pet owners can enter the giveaway by visiting CharlestonPawProject.com and completing an entry form with their contact and pet information. The project represents a strategic approach to addressing pet population challenges and promoting animal welfare in South Carolina.
