Seoul Innovation Forum at CES Pioneers Global Startup Collaboration Platform

The Seoul Business Agency (SBA) successfully operated the Seoul Pavilion at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, USA, introducing an innovative multi-national startup competition platform called the Seoul Innovation Forum. The event, held on January 8, featured startups from South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Switzerland, and the Netherlands in a groundbreaking collaborative showcase.

The forum’s centerpiece was an inter-country IR pitching competition where each participating nation presented its most promising startups. A global panel of media judges evaluated the pitches, ultimately awarding the Grand Winner title to E-Magy B.V. from the Netherlands. Japan’s BionicM secured First Runner-Up honors, while South Korea’s Apollon claimed Second Runner-Up status.

Following the competitive pitching session, participants engaged in a cross-border collaboration discussion focused on startup support programs. Representatives from participating institutions, including Seoul Business Agency, JETRO, Netherlands Enterprise Agency, SwissTech, and Taiwan Tech Arena, shared insights into startup incubation and growth strategies from their respective innovation ecosystems.

Hyun Woo Kim, CEO of SBA, emphasized the forum’s significance, noting it was the first platform where national organizations and startups collaborated in a competitive environment evaluated by global media. Kim highlighted Korea’s innovative startup culture and expressed confidence in the participating startups’ potential for significant achievements.

The Seoul Innovation Forum represents a strategic approach to international startup networking, serving as a bridge connecting entrepreneurial talent across global boundaries. Kim indicated that the forum is not a one-time event but will continue as a key CES-affiliated initiative, with ongoing support for participating companies beyond the conference.
